Paypal Lawsuit

I dispute charge twice with Paypal.com. First time, it was a nonrecipt of merchandise from this guy in Hong Kong. (Tried to buy a gameboy memory from him) Then the second dispute was for 3 unauthorized transactions. 2 charges and 1 refund...that resulting in $300+ less money in my Paypal account. After going through a hell lots of hassle submitting paper form via snail mail, I got the money back to my paypal account...

Can I file this claim thing? How much would I get out of this and why would I want to do this? I like paypal service, it's a GREAT small business tool. Security sucks ass, shitty customer service but heck, you get what you pay for...

Since paypal own by eBay who has so much money, giving some back to its customer wouldn't hurt them, would it?

#77

Cool! Another one of those in my mailbox. It's been so long since I received one. I think last time it was about a Poison Spider underneath toilet seat :P

Well, this story remind me of the Thai Horror flix: 999-9999. That movie was FUNNY!

>It was about 1 PM in the afternoon, and Lauren was
>driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car
>pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's
>parents have 4 children (high school and college age)
>and have always told them never to pull over for an
>unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather wait
>until they get a gas station, etc., so Lauren had
>actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly
>called #77 on her cell phone to tell the police
>dispatcher that she would not pull over right away.
>She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an
>unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his
>rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if
>there were police cars where
>she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep
>driving, remain calm and that he had back up already
>on the way. Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded
>her and the unmarked car behind her.. One police man
>went to her side and the others surrounded the car
>behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled
>him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and
>wanted for other crimes.
>
>I never knew about the #77 Cell Phone Feature, but
>especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not
>pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have
>to respect your right to keep going to a "safe" place.
>You obviously need to make some signals that you
>acknowledge them (i.e. put on your hazard lights) or
>call #77 like Lauren did. Too bad the cell phone
>companies don't give you this little bit of wonderful
>information. So, now it's your turn to let your
>friends know about #77. Send this to every woman (or
>man) you know, it may save a life!

The Truth
Whether this particular story is real, we don't know, but the information it conveys is apparently sound.

TruthOrFiction.com talked with law enforcement agencies on both the East and West Coasts. The consensus was that if you are suspicious about a patrol car wanting to pull you over, especially in an isolated area or at night, it's prudent to proceed to a place where would feel safer. The problem is that the law says you are to obey an officer who says to pull over so if you do decide to continue, do so in a way that makes it clear you are not trying to evade him or her. If you have a cell phone, call your local emergency number, usually 911, and you can be connected to a dispatcher who can help decide whether the car attempting to pull you over is legitimate. Also, as happens in this eRumor, you can inform the dispatcher that it is your intention to comply, but only after you get to the next off ramp, gas station, populated areas, etc.

We've received numerous emails asking about the #77 procedure described in the eRumor. Even though 911 is the most common number to use in an emergency, there are many states that have established other numbers as well for cell phone users, especially to report highway emergencies. The #77 number is one of them. Some states use *77 or even #55. One of the reasons, according to a cell company we spoke with, is that the 911 calls from a cell phone go to different kinds of agencies depending on where the phone call is being made. In some areas, dialing 911 on a cell phone may go to a city or county emergency dispatcher. In other areas, the call may go to a state highway law enforcement agency such as the highway patrol or state troopers. In the states with the "77" numbers, cell phone users will usually get connected directly with a highway law enforcement agency. For that reason, you will frequently see signs posted along some freeways, expressways, or toll ways suggesting use of a number other than 911 if you're using a cell phone.

Brushing: Fighting Cellulite

Body brushing and Cellulite:
Body brushing helps our lymphatic drainage system to remove toxins from the body. In so doing, it helps to reduce cellulite in our thighs and butt, where fats, proteins and waste products tend to accumulate.
Body brushing is not a miracle cure for cellulite, but it does help, especially if you improve your dietary habits. Five minutes dry body brushing before your bath or shower helps cellulite by getting fluid moving and boosting blood flow.
Use a natural bristle brush and take long strokes. Start at your feet, brushing up your legs and thighs towards the groin. Work in circular movements over the tummy, then do hands and arms, back and across the shoulders.Use gentle downward strokes on your neck, throat and chest.
Your skin may redden and start tingling as the body-brushing increases the circulation in areas of greatest fat-concentration.

http://www.annecollins.com/cellulite/body-brushing.htm

Cellulite is a common term used to describe superficial  pockets of trapped fat, which cause uneven dimpling or  "orange peel" skin.
What causes cellulite ? There are many theories about the causes of cellulite, but it seems to have its origins in adolescence when the female hormone estrogen starts to trigger the laying down of fat by enlarging cells in the sub-dermis, particularly on the hips and thighs. These fat cells are surrounded by connective collagen, a tissue that holds them in place. Lymph fluid that runs through the tissue gradually begins to accumulate, generally because circulation can be poor in this area. As a result, the fat cells are compressed and start to harden into lumps, which in time become obvious through the skin. Some experts also believe that lifestyle factors, including a high intake of toxins, such as alcohol and coffee, and lack of exercise, increase your chances of cellulite. Also, aging results in a loss of thickness and tone of the connective tissue within the dermis and superficial fat layer.
Combat cellulite with exercise. An inactive lifestyle is often thought to contribute to the build-up of cellulite. The modern workplace sees many of us sitting at a desk all day long and prolonged inactivity of this kind can cut off circulation. When seeking cellulite removal, therapists often notice that cellulite deposits are at their most stubborn where the legs meet the chair edge: the place where circulation is cut off most. Lack of exercise leads to a sluggish circulation, making it even harder for the blood and lymphatic system to get rid of toxins and send  oxygen around the system. The best kind of exercise is brisk and gentle at the same time, such as swimming or walking.

Combat cellulite with skin brushing/massage Skin brushing and self-massage are brilliant beauty habits to fall into as they help the clearing and cleansing of the lymphatic system, rev up circulation and get rid of cellulite that has been long held in body cells. For skin brushing, an ordinary loofah won't do. You need a long handled wooden brush made from natural fibres. Brush in an upward direction using firm sweeping strokes - lighttickling won't benefit the skin at all. Start on the soles of the feet and work upwards, paying particular attention to the cellulite-prone areas using small circular movements. Do not over-brush or the skin will redden. Alternatively, invest in a knobbly wooden massage tool to boost circulation on thighs and buttocks. In the bath or shower, work some soap or shower gel into a rich lather and gently massage the skin using slow, circular movements. Rinse.

Combat cellulite with cleansing, weight loss and drinking plenty of water to flush toxins. Cleansing of accumulated toxins will help to restore skin tone. The liver is the main target here and the products listed below are excellent for general and liver cleansing. Weight gain will exacerbate cellulite, although not an exclusive cause of cellulite formation. At the same time however, weight loss, if necessary, will improve cellulite conditions.

Skin brushing for Detox:
Giving your body a firm brush all over makes the skin glow by removing the top dull, dead layer of skin and encouraging new cells to regenerate.  The gentle massaging motion of the bristles also has a beneficial effect on areas of cellulite, and it is an effective treatment for helping eliminate toxins from the body during a detox programme.

Technique:
The technique is a simple one, and you need only a body brush with natural bristles, such as those of goat or boar, or a loofah.  There are various types of brush, all widely available at chemist shops.  You will need a brush with a handle - some have detachable handles - so that you can reach all the inaccessible parts of your back.  There are also brushes mounted on long straps, which are ideal for the back and buttocks, and most loofahs are long enough to reach over the shoulders and down the back.  You need a much softer brush, or a flannel, for the face.
Skin brushing is carried out on dry skin.  Start at your feet and work upwards, brushing the legs, then buttocks, then on to the chest and stomach and finally the face.  Brush more gently where the skin is thinnest and always brush towards the heart.

This kind of skin-brushing , if done daily, is one of the simplest and effective treatments for lumpy thighs and hips that you will find anywhere.
Brushing your whole body in this way will take you between three and five minutes, depending on how many strokes you give to each area.  Try to keep a rhythm going and brush for up to five minutes every day and preferably immediately before you have a bath or shower so that the dead cells are washed away.  Skin brushing is best done in the morning as the acceleration of blood flow has quite an invigorating effect.  You should be able to see the difference in your skin after just a few sessions - it will become very soft and develop an attractive rosy glow.

Good reasons for skin brushing:
Stimulates blood and lymph flow
Helps eliminate toxins from the body
Removes dead skin cells
Encourages cells to regenerate
Stimulates production of sebum
Helps combat cellulite
Results in smooth glowing skin

God Bless ...

the new diet and treadmill. They both helped me getting out of the long monthly journey through hell and back.

Since 3 months ago, I no longer have [CRAMP]! Eventhough my period is not right on schedule anymore (sometime, twice a month) and it stays a little too long (seven days...)

I still think it's a good trade! My cramp was unusual. It's really really horrible. I lost all my sick leaves because of it. Every month, I wished I died. Every month, I wished I turn 50 soon.

ZIT?: ZIP it QUICK!

Also from lowcarber.org forum:

One of her great skin tips: if a zit or blemish suddenly appears right before a special event, job interview, etc ... put a drop or two of Visine or other eyedrop .. the kind that "gets the red out" .. on a Qtip, then dab on the red spot. Do not rub all over the skin, just the red spot. The antihistamine in the drops will shrink the red swelliing temporarily. Not a permanent cure, but a quick fix in a pinch. I've tried this, and it works!

Brushing for better skin

I'm a lowcarb dieter. I was on Atkins for 4 weeks and South Beach for 2. After dropping 8 lbs., now I'm on ... my own :)

I don't eat a bowl of rice like I used to but I'm still eatting it. I eat fruits, I drink latte and snack a whole bag of toasted almonds. Not a very good plan for a diet but hey~ it's not too bad. I managed to keep my weight stable as is for a while now. I even had two slices of hawaiian pizza & Papa John's Garlic Butter sauce over the weekend, Mwahaahaaahaaaa ~

My favorite forum is at http://www.lowcarber.org. Great people and useful info. are there. Today I found this interesting thread about "Brushing" for better skin.

I'm gonna try it as soon as I have time to go get a brush...

Body brushing is a good way to stimulate blood circulation. Because the skin is an organ of elimination (and the largest one in the body), many toxins can be eliminated if you stimulate the circulation and the lymph system by brushing the skin. Use a loofah or a body sponge and brush in circular motions to remove the dead skin cells. Pay special attention to the elbows, knees, shoulders, the back and thighs. Do this every day before bathing or showering. Also, keep the temperature of your bath water a little higher that of your skin so as to stimulate sluggish circulation.

Smoother skin is a spin-off of this toxin-eliminating regimen, which leaves you feeling invigorated and truly bright-eyed.

Body brushing
I’m becoming evangelical about dry body brushing. After years of seeing models and celebrities strip to their smalls on shoots, I can testify that all the ones with little or no cellulite recommend body brushing (the Big Breakfast presenter Amanda Byram is also a recent convert). Elemis and the Body Shop both do body brushes; use long, gentle sweeping strokes from the feet upwards, over the abdomen, then along the arms, and down from the shoulders to the chest, always moving in the direction of the heart. It stimulates the lymph system, which aids the elimination of toxins, and it boosts blood flow, aids circulation and removes dead skin cells to reveal the smoother, firmer surface beneath. It takes only two minutes a day, but it’s the fastest, cheapest, most effective body treatment around.

If you can’t spare an extra two minutes to body brush in the mornings, a good scrub keeps that holiday feeling alive — close your eyes and think of sand on your legs. But don’t be tempted to moisturise a tan to make it last — nothing looks less attractive than scaly skin clinging on by the sheer force of heavy-duty body lotions. Better to scrub and go paler but have smooth, glowing legs.

I have kept up the brushing and some of the exercise (until just recently when I started another program). The brushing has made a huge difference in the softness and elasticity of my skin. This time of year I find my skin is very dry and itchy, so far so good, the brushing and then mosturizing after a shower has taken care of that.

While I was doing the awesome legs moves I noticed a change in my thighs, Theresa claims if you do the bootcamp religiously w/in 2 weeks you'll notice a one inche loss in your thighs, I noticed this in about 3 weeks (where there had been no change the first 2 months of PP) of not so religious use of the move. Could have been that I was due to lose there, could have been because of the move. I will tell you though, it's a killer

It did make a difference - that combined with the LC and exercise has noticeably improved the cottage cheesey-ness of my thighs. In fact, 90% of the cellulite is gone. Since starting back I've noticed that my skin is softer and smoother.

I do the brushing before the shower (now that my skin is used to it) but I'd start in the shower (unless you don't mind a bit of hard brushing) at first. I use a regular body brush (picked up at the body shop) and moisturize afterward.

you brush upward from the legs and downward from the torso, as though you were pushing everything up toward your middle/chest area. Strokes are circular and repeated about 8 times per area. Brushing should take about 5 minutes once you have it down pat. Try with a softer brush at first, and do it in the shower. Then you can graduate to a harder bristle and do it dry. It took me about a week of consistent brushing to be able to do it dry.

Papa Johns Pizza

God damn...n

I broke my diet big time. Just had two huge slices of Hawaiian pizza with a tub of garlic butter sauce.

Blame the husband. He ordered them yesterday and I just didn't feel like cooking today, so I ate the leftover. Luckily there're only two slices left out of those two boxes :/

Almonds

I'm addicted to almonds now. Trader Joe's Roasted Almonds are to die for. They're so good, they're so addictive. Well, almonds are good for you. They boost metabolism just like greentea.

South Beach Diet suggests 15 almonds per day but I've been eatting about 50 or so...per day :)

Good snack :)

I'm a big fan of horror flix and videogames.
Resident Evil is definitely one of the BEST scary games I've ever played and the movie was well made. I'm so excited to see this...

No Cramp but... twice a month

Damn...n

I woke up on Saturday morning at 11AM because of my period. (Usually I'll sleep until noon)

For the past month since I started the Low-carb life style, on/off diet and treadmill exercise, the cycle of my period has changed from once a month to 2-3 times a month. -_-' It will last between 2-4 days.

I don't know if I like this. Of course it's not normal, something is wrong or has changed inside my body. On the good side though, it doesn't come with that HORRIBLE CRAMP anymore :-o

I always have cramp associate with period monthly. Bad Bad Bad cramp for 2-3 days. Sometime I couldn't go to work, couldn't do anything because I had to take the strongest prescription drug that put me to sleep :( It's been like this since I was around 25.

Well, I probably will go see the doctor sometime next month though.
